Privacy Policy

We treat your data the way we'd want our own treated — carefully and sparingly.

This policy explains what personal data AMOR FATI collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

AMOR FATI is operated by Clarize Marais, Proskauer Str. 11, 10247 Berlin, Germany. Contact: welcome@amorfati.world. See our Impressum for full legal details.

What data we collect

We only collect what you give us through our forms — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. Some forms may also ask for a phone number or additional context (for example, workplace enquiries or teacher applications).

Why we collect it

  • Community membership and newsletter
  • Event RSVPs (e.g. the Stoic Salon)
  • Retreat waitlist and booking enquiries
  • Workplace wellness enquiries
  • Teacher applications (Teach with us)
  • Answering messages sent through the contact form
  • Fulfilling shop orders

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where relevant, the performance of a contract you have entered into with us (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it to us for, or as required by law (for example, invoicing records for shop orders under German tax law, typically up to 10 years). Waitlist and newsletter entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or unsubscribe.

We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Ever.

Third-party processors

To run the site we rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitung):

  • TPOP — our print-on-demand and fulfilment partner for shop orders. They receive your name and shipping address to produce and ship your order.
  • Lovable Cloud — the platform that hosts this website and securely stores form submissions, community sign-ups, and account data on our behalf.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, or to withdraw your consent at any time, email us at welcome@amorfati.world. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL.
